Keck School of Medicine
The Keck School of Medicine (KSOM), led by Dr. Laura Mosqueda, is located in Los Angeles, at the University’s Health Sciences Campus, which neighbors USC University Hospital, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center and Hospital, and the Los Angeles County (LAC)+USC Medical Center, one of the largest teaching hospitals in the U.S., serving a very diverse population. KSOM is a national leader in innovative clinical care, research, and education of future physicians. KSOM has 1,200 full-time faculty, 1,800 staff, and 1,200 students. Many research programs at KSOM have received national recognition such as health policy and pediatric obesity, stem cell/regenerative medicine, cancer, genetics, neuro-genetics, preventive medicine, transplantation medicine, bioengineering, as well as other key areas. The school has a commitment to collaborative interdisciplinary research and rapid translation of scientific findings from the lab bench to the patient’s bedside. It has a funded Clinical and Translational Science Award. The KSOM houses the Department of Preventive Medicine.
