The USC Norris Office of Community Outreach and Engagement supported the Stand Up to Cancer clinical trials initiative -Faith in Cancer Equity: A Gospel tour. Working with African American churches in a series of church- based concerts, this community initiative is reaching the African American/Black Community by providing educational information related to cancer clinical trials and health equity.
The first concert in the series occurred on Saturday, October 12, at Brister Baptist Church in the city of Los Angeles. This was a faith-filled event led by Pastor Jawane Hilton, the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and an amazing Gospel Choir. This was a life-enhancing and exceptional event. The gospel choir was fantastic and provided a medium that allowed people to learn important points, watch very meaningful videos, which included members in the audience, and discuss questions, issues, and concerns while praising God for all he has bestowed upon us in a very culturally, socially exciting and meaningful way.
This is part of a series, so if you missed the first event, please join us on Saturday, October 26, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Redeemer Missionary Baptist Church (1631 W. Adams Blvd, Los Angeles, CA 90007) [The Flyer can be found below]. Join us for another faith-filled event led by Pastor Curtis Monroe Jr., DD, and the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center. Use the QR code in the flyer to register.
