Tess Cruz, Ph.D.
Dr. Cruz is currently Co-Principal Investigator for a study on diffusion of tobacco marketing through social media and an Investigator on studies of retail marketing in vulnerable populations, fotonovelas in health promotion and community based participatory research in low-income communities. Her primary research interests are in health communication, health promotion, health literacy and reducing health disparities. She is the Director of the Health Communications track of the USC Master of Public Health program and currently teaches courses on health promotion, public health communication, race and gender disparities in in public health and health disparities. Recently she has adapted two of these courses for the new online MPH program.
