Brooke Van Kummer is a second year Master of Public Health candidate focused on Global Health Leadership. She earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Cell and Molecular Biology, and a minor in Pan African Studies from California State University, Northridge (CSUN). She also holds a Masterof Science degree in Biology from CSUN, for which she completed a thesis focused on exercise and brain health.

Brooke is a professional health coach who helps clients achieve their personal fitness goals by teaching principles of nutritious eating along with customized exercise practices. She will use the CenHealth scholarship to travel to Panama where she will apply some of the skills learned in the MPH program. Brooke looks forward to providing support to public health professionals in Panama as they care for their community members. She also looks forward to the perspective the experience will provide.
