Elahe Nezami is the Associate Dean for Undergraduate, Masters, and Professional programs of the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. In this role she oversees 19 educational degree programs and an additional five certificate programs offered by the Keck School. She has served as the director of the Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Studies undergraduate program for more than 20 years. In 2008 she developed and launched the Master of Science in Global Medicine program and in 2010 she launched the Global Health undergraduate program. In addition to these three programs, she oversees eight affiliated minor programs. She is also the co-director of t

he Master of Science in Electrical Engineering – Wireless Health Technology program with the USC Viterbi School of Engineering.

Elahe Nezami also serves as North American Regional Director of the Asia-Pacific Academic Consortium of Public Health and as a member of the Consortium of Universities for Global Health. With a keen interest in improving education and training at all levels of education in the public health and global health disciplines, Dr. Nezami has built partnerships for study and research with collaborators in many parts of the world and is dedicated to innovative education programs that will grow the general population’s knowledge of public health and global health issues.

Dr. Nezami’s ongoing research examines global health education; effective integration of technology into pedagogy; determinants of behavioral risk factors for chronic diseases, cancer, and cardiovascular diseases; and the examination of personality characteristics in relation to cardiovascular disease.

Dr. Nezami received her M.A. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Houston and her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern California.
