Cancer Center Grand Rounds Presentation by Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati, “Optimizing Translational Cancer Research Through Outreach, Engagement, Dissemination of Scientific Information and Technology Transfer to Improve Cancer Outcomes”

The Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE) at the USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center works in a bidirectional manner with researchers and all communities to reduce the cancer burden in our catchment area. This presentation focuses on strategies and activities implemented by the Cancer Center to support recruitment and retention in research, foster new discoveries in priority cancers with community involvement, and support creative forms of communicating innovative findings from the laboratory, clinics, and populations to the public. Effective, innovative strategies that enhance outreach, maximize engagement in research, and disseminate scientific information to research participants, community partners, policymakers, and the public at large with the goal of improving cancer outcomes was presented by Dr. Lourdes Baezconde-Garbanati.
